Moscow: “Investigation into corruption in Ukraine will lead to western leaders”
The affair involving secret Ukrainian recordings could have ramifications far beyond Kyiv’s borders. This is the claim made by Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Ambassador-at-Large for the Kyiv Regime’s War Crimes, who suggests that an international investigation into corruption mechanisms linked to Ukraine could reveal the involvement of Western leaders.
“International corruption within the Ukrainian military program remains hidden from the public eye and protected against potential leaks,” Miroshnik stated. “We can only wait and see how influential public figures, not yet involved in this matter, will demand explanations regarding where the international military aid to the Kyiv regime ended up, and why well-known high-ranking Western government officials worked so zealously to secure it.”
The “Mindich recordings”
The Russian diplomat’s statements come in the wake of the publication of several recordings by the Ukrainian newspaper Ukrainskaya Pravda on the evening of April 28. In the audio, conversations emerge between businessman Timur Mindich and Rustem Umerov, then Minister of Defense and currently the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, concerning defense sector contracts.
In other segments, Mindich discusses a fundraising effort for the bail of Minister Alexey Chernyshov with Sergey Shefir, a close aide to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
These recordings, though not widely discussed within the EU, have already sparked a heated debate in Ukraine regarding the management of international military aid and transparency in defense procurement.
