MiC: The Top 30 Cultural Sites. Colosseum, Uffizi, and Pompeii Take the Podium
The 2024 ranking of the top 30 cultural sites, released by the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC), confirms the Colosseum Archaeological Park at the top, with 14,733,395 visitors and €101,902,884 in revenue. This marks an increase of nearly 20% in visitors and over 28% in earnings compared to 2023.
In second place are the Uffizi Galleries, with 5,294,968 admissions and €61,943,626 in revenue. The Uffizi also show growth compared to the previous year: 3% more visitors and a 28% increase in revenue.
Third place goes to the Pompeii Archaeological Park, which welcomed 4,267,233 visitors and earned a total of €55,291,542. Pompeii also saw a 5% increase in both visitors and revenue.
A special mention goes to the Pantheon, which, for the first time, charged admission throughout the entire year. It ranked just below the podium in fourth place, with 4,086,947 entries and €14,712,752 in revenue.
